Crystal Bennett-Girdy
Founder/President,Women of Purpose, NRCPRS | Project Coordinator | Recovery Coach | Certified Housing Specialist
Crystal Bennett-Girdy is a dedicated advocate for individuals struggling with substance use disorder and co-occurring disorders. With a passion for supporting and uplifting communities, she serves as the Founder and President of Women of Purpose, an organization dedicated to empowering those individuals from underserved communities through charitable and volunteer opportunities.
In her professional journey, Crystal holds multiple roles and certifications including NRCPRS (Nationally Registered Certified Peer Recovery Specialist), Project Coordinator, Recovery Coach, and Certified Housing Specialist. Her work at the Virginia Association of Recovery Residences has insured that those seeking recovery are afforded a safe, stable recovery house experience through the required mandated certification process.She uses her extensive experience to offer compassionate, practical support to those in recovery, as well as provide guidance and resources for navigating life's challenges.
Crystal is also the Co-Founder and Founder, respectively, of two impactful non-profit organizations: The Lighthouse RVA and Children At Risk dba Positive Vibes for Youth . As a member of Americorp/Recoverycorp, Crystals’ commitment helping those in recovery has had a positive impact on the recovery community , both within the state and nationwide.Through these organizations, she strives to provide essential resources, education, community support and to offer her lived experiences to be a beacon of hope to the underserved populations in Richmond. Her mission is clear: to uplift, empower, and equip individuals with the tools they need to thrive.
Crystal's unwavering dedication to her community, her work in recovery, and her leadership in both organizations make her a key figure in transforming lives and fostering hope across all communities in Richmond.
